Villarreal maintained its perfect start to the La Liga season on Saturday thanks to a 3-0 defeat of lowly Osasuna at El Madrigal.

After opening the campaign with back-to-back wins, Villarreal got off to an ideal start on its home ground by grabbing two goals inside the first half- hour. Jeremy Perbet notched his first goal of the season by scoring in the 23rd minute, while Javier Aquino doubled Villarreal's advantage seven minutes later.

The home side sealed the victory through Ikechukwu Uche's goal 15 minutes from time, capping a fine performance that lifted the Yellow Submarine to the La Liga summit with nine points.

Osasuna is without a point from its first three contests, leaving the club in the cellar of the Spanish top flight.

Celta Vigo 1, Granada 1

Vigo, Spain - Celta Vigo and Granada scored on opposite sides of halftime to split the points in a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos on Saturday.

Rafinha's strike in the 29th minute had given the home side the lead, but Piti struck just after the hour mark to see Granada come away with a share of the spoils.

The result sees Celta Vigo improve to five points on the season, one point better than Granada.

Valladolid 1, Getafe 0

Valladolid, Spain - Marc Valiente scored the lone goal at the Jose Zorrilla on Saturday as Valladolid claimed its first win of the season thanks to a 1-0 defeat of Getafe.

The two sides were scoreless at the break, but Valladolid wasted no time in breaking the deadlock after the restart as Valiente notched the game-winner two minutes into the second half.
