Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will miss several weeks with a significant foot injury.

"Matt Schaub has significant foot injury. Being evaluated as we speak. He's going to Charlotte in next week to be looked at," Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said on Monday.

Schaub apparently got his right foot caught in a pile during a QB sneak in the first half of Sunday's 37-9 win over Tampa Bay. He threw for 242 yards and two scores in the victory.

The 7-3 Texans, who lead the AFC South, will turn to former first-round pick Matt Leinart.

In 10 games this season, Schaub has thrown for 2,479 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Leinart threw for 435 yards and three interceptions in eight games (one start) for the Cardinals in 2009.

The sixth-year USC product has thrown for 3,893 yards, 14 touchdowns and 20 interceptions in his career.

The Texans have a bye week before playing at Jacksonville on November 27.
