Subotic out six weeks with facial fracture

Dortmund, Germany – Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic 1 victory over Wolfsburg on Saturday.

The Serbia international was struck in the face by the elbow of Wolfsburg defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos in the 42nd minute, and he underwent surgery to have three plates fitted for his upper jaw and eye socket.

According to team doctor Markus Braun, Subotic will remain in the hospital for a few days, but the injury will prevent him from taking part in Dortmund's top-of-the-table clash with Bayern Munich on November 19.

The 22-year-old has started nine of Dortmund's 12 games in Bundesliga play this season.
