AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati will miss the next two weeks of action due to a right shoulder injury.

Abbiati sustained the problem in Milan's Champions League match with Barcelona last week and he sat out the Rossoneri's 4-0 victory against Chievo over the weekend.

The 34-year-old underwent tests, which ruled out surgery, but confirmed that he will need two weeks to recover from the problem.

Marco Amelia will once again take Abbiati's place between the posts for Milan's match with Genoa on Friday, with Abbiati having started the first 11 league games for Milan this season.
