(SportsNetwork.com) - Sam Shields will remain in Green Bay, agreeing to terms on a new contract with the Packers this weekend.

The Packers did not officially announce the deal, but Shields let it slip on his Twitter account.

"Sooooooo happy to be back with my family," he tweeted.

Shields also re-tweeted a post from his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

"Congrats to RSR client Sam Shields & the Green Bay Packers on the new contract!" wrote Rosenhaus.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the deal to be worth $39 million over four years with a $12.5 million signing bonus.

Shields has spent each of his four NFL seasons with the Packers and last year led the team with four interceptions. The Miami-Florida product has 13 picks in 53 games.
