Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Royals acquired outfielder Carlos Peguero from the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Peguero, 26, went 2-for-6 with a solo home run in two games for the Mariners last season. He appeared in 65 games for Seattle over three seasons, batting .195 with a .242 on-base percentage, nine homers and 27 RBI.
In October, Peguero's wife was charged with spending almost $180,000 on a credit card belonging to the wife of Mariners ace Felix Hernandez.
