Baltimore, MD – The Boston Red Sox announced on Wednesday day disabled day DL.
Buchholz was originally placed on the 15-day DL back on June 19 (retroactive to June 17) with a stress fracture in his lumbar spine. He was later transferred to the 60-day list on July 31.
Before the setback, the 27-year-old right-hander was 6-3 with a 3.48 earned run average in 14 starts.
Youkilis goes to the disabled list for the second time this year, after spending August 18-September 1 out of action.
The 32-year-old, who is sidelined this time with a sports hernia/left hip bursitis, was hitting .258 with 17 home runs, 32 doubles and 80 RBI in 120 games.
