Rangers reinstate Gentry, option O'Day

The Texas Rangers reinstated outfielder Craig day disabled list Thursday, and optioned pitcher Darren A Round Rock.

Gentry suffered a concussion in a July 24 game against Toronto, when he collided with a Blue Jays player while sliding into second base. He was placed on the DL four days later.

Gentry has hit .265 with five doubles and seven RBI since being recalled May 7.

The Rangers recalled O'Day on Saturday, when they placed Alexi Ogando on the paternity leave list. O'Day threw a scoreless inning of relief in Monday's win against Seattle.

He has posted a 3.86 earned run average in 12 appearances for the Rangers this season, but spent more than two months on the DL after having surgery to repair a partial tear of the labrum in his left hip.
