PSV thrashes Heerenveen to move into first

PSV moved into first place of the Eredivisie table on Sunday after thrashing Heerenveen 5-1 at the Philips Stadion.

Daniel De Ridder handed visiting Heerenveen a shock lead in the sixth minute, but Luciano Narsingh leveled the score in the 23rd minute to send the two sides into the halftime interval even.

They were far from level after the final whistle as PSV exploded for four goals in the span of 34 minutes.

PSV climbs to the Eredivisie summit with 30 points, becoming the first club in the Dutch top flight to reach 10 wins. Heerenveen remains stuck on 13 points.

Twente dropped out of first place after its 0-0 draw with third-place Vitesse. The clubs have amassed 29 points and 25 points, respectively.
