PSV stays top after defeat of Go Ahead Eagles

PSV Eindhoven scored three second- half goals to remain at the top of the Eredivisie table with a 3-0 victory over Go Ahead Eagles at the Philips Stadion on Saturday.

After a scoreless opening period, the home side hit for three goals to improve to nine points through the first three weeks of the season.

Florian Jozefzoon opened the scoring for PSV three minutes after the break before Oscar Hiljemark doubled the club's advantage in the 56th minute.

PSV held the two-goal edge until the final stages of the affair when Memphis Depay scored seven minutes from time to add insult to injury for the Eagles, who suffer their first loss of the season to remain on four points.

Joining PSV at the Eredivisie summit is Zwolle, which claimed a resounding 5-1 win at lowly NEC on Saturday.

Jesper Drost and Kamohelo Mokotjo opened the scoring for Zwolle before a brace from Fred Benson and a tack-on goal from Youness Mokhtar handed the club a five-goal lead, but Christoph Hemlein's strike 14 minutes from time helped NEC spoil a clean sheet for the visitors.
