Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies placed pitcher Sean O'Sullivan on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday due to tendinitis in his left knee.
O'Sullivan had been slated to start Thursday's finale of a three-game series against Miami. Dustin McGowan will instead draw the assignment, the Phillies announced.
The move was made retroactive to April 18, one day after O'Sullivan allowed four runs and a pair of homers in a loss at Washington.
Over two starts this season, O'Sullivan has posted an 0-1 record with a 4.91 ERA in 11 innings.
Reliever Hector Neris was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to fill the available roster spot. The 25-year-old right-hander struck out 11 while permitting two runs over eight innings with the IronPigs thus far in 2015.
