Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Kennedy Meeks had 19 points and 12 rebounds in helping sixth-ranked North Carolina beat Davidson 90-72 on Saturday.

Justin Jackson scored 18 points, Marcus Paige contributed 13 and J.P. Tokoto added 10 with seven boards for the Tar Heels (3-0), who posted their sixth straight win in the series.

Peyton Aldridge made six 3-pointers and finished with 25 points for Davidson (2-1). Tyler Kalinoski totaled 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists in defeat.

"We beat a very good basketball team that's a tough matchup for us," said North Carolina coach Roy Williams.

Aldridge knocked down a trey to give the Wildcats an early 12-7 lead, but the Tar Heels responded with an 8-0 run. A Paige layup gave North Carolina the lead and Theo Pinson capped the surge with a dunk to make it 15-12 seven minutes into the contest.

The Tar Heels led 38-25 late in the first half after stringing together an 11-0 run. A Jackson bucket put North Carolina up 46-34 at the break.

Davidson got no closer than eight points in the second half and trailed by as many as 24 points.

"Their defense was the best offense they had," said Davidson coach Bob McKillop about the Tar Heels.

Game Notes

Brice Johnson and Isaiah Hicks both scored nine points for North Carolina ... The Tar Heels outscored the Wildcats 44-22 in the paint and held a 51-42 rebounding advantage ... Davidson last beat North Carolina on Nov. 20, 2001.
