Solomon Hill arrived at Arizona as a chubby freshman with a questionable jump shot and not a lot of defense.

He'll leave as one of the most versatile players in the program's history, a leader who worked himself into position for a shot at the NBA.

A 6-foot-7 senior, Hill will play his final home game for the 18th-ranked Wildcats Saturday against Arizona State.

Hill has gotten better every year in the desert, raising his scoring average from 6.7 points per game as a freshman to 13.6 this season. He's also developed a reliable shot from the perimeter, hitting 38 percent from the 3-point arc, and has slimmed down to an agile 220 pounds.

Hill also will graduate in four years, setting him up regardless of whether he plays professionally.
