Columbia, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Meighan Simmons scored 20 points as No. 10 Tennessee took a 56-50 victory over Missouri in an SEC battle on Sunday.
Bashaara Graves had 11 points for the Lady Volunteers (22-5, 11-3 SEC), who have won two straight since a loss to Kentucky last Sunday.
Brianna Kulas had 22 points and six rebounds for the Tigers (16-11, 5-9), who had a two-game winning streak stopped. Morgan Eye finished with 15 points and five rebounds.
Trailing by six points, a free throw from Eye and layup by Kulas cut Missouri's deficit to three, 50-47, with 1:22 to play.
After a field goal miss and free throw miss from Tennessee, Missouri got the ball back with 51.1 seconds to play, but missed consecutive 3-point attempts.
Isabelle Harrison then hit two free throws with 34.7 seconds to play and, after a missed 3-pointer from Kayla McDowell, Andraya Carter was off on her free throw shot.
Harrison, though, grabbed the offensive board and sealed the win with a pair from the line with 11.6 seconds to play.
Tennessee held a 25-22 lead after 20 minutes of play thanks to 10 points from Simmons in the half.
