Naples, Italy – Napoli signed Italy international midfielder year contract extension through the 2014-15 Serie A season on Tuesday.
Maggio, 29, joined Napoli in 2008 from Sampdoria, and has played more than 100 matches for the club. He started his career with Vicenza, played at Fiorentina from 2003-07, and also spent time on loan at Treviso and Sampdoria.
"Maggio will be a Napoli player until 2015 and soon we will also announce a new deal for [Marek] Hamsik," Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said on the club's website.
A youth international at various levels, he made his debut for Italy in 2008. Maggio has since played 14 times for his country's senior team.
