Mars Hill senior running back Jonas Randolph has been named the winner of the 2011 Harlon Hill Award, given annually to the top player in Division II.

Randolph received 120 total points in the balloting and edged Washburn's Dane Simoneau by three points in the closest voting in the 26-year history of the award. Delta State's Micah Davis was third with 101 points.

The award winner is determined in voting by the Division II sports information directors.

Randolph, the South Atlantic Conference's player of the year, ran for 2,170 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. He reached 200 yards rushing six times during the season and became the SAC's career rushing leader with 5,608 yards.
