Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Erasmo Ramirez left Saturday's contest with the Boston Red Sox in the top of the third inning with an undisclosed injury.

Ramirez, who retired all eight hitters he faced, made a leaping stab at Ryan Kalish's ground ball up the middle and fired to first to record the second out of the inning.

He then fired the first pitch to Mike Aviles for a strike, but immediately signaled to catcher Miguel Olivo that something was amiss.

The training staff came out to look at Ramirez and decided to remove him from the contest as Charlie Furbush took over on the mound.
