Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Manny Machado's grand slam highlighted a six-run top of the sixth inning and the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Houston Astros, 9-4, in the finale of a four-game set.
David Lough smacked a two-run shot among his two hits, three RBI and two runs scored for Baltimore, which took the final two games of the set after dropping the first two. Jonathan Schoop had three hits and scored a pair of runs.
Wei-Yin Chen (6-2) struck out six and surrendered a run on four hits and a walk over 5 1/3 innings to notch the win.
Scott Feldman (3-3) was shelled for nine runs on 11 hits and a walk over 5 1/3 frames for the Astros, who have lost two straight on the heels of a seven-game winning streak.
"We had our opportunities and we had pitches to hit," Astros manager Bo Porter said. "You would love to win the series, but at the same time you want to play really good baseball."
The O's led 3-1 through five innings, but blew the game open following their six-run sixth.
Chris Davis, J.J. Hardy and Schoop singled to begin the frame and load the bases. Lough's base hit through the hole on the left side plated Davis and Hardy scored on Nick Hundley's sacrifice fly into right.
Nick Markakis was intentionally walked to re-load the bases and Machado brought everyone home when he crushed a 2-2 fastball over the heart of the plate off the facade in left field for a 9-1 Orioles advantage.
"I feel more comfortable (at the plate)," Machado said. "Everything is coming into place."
Carlos Corporan's sacrifice fly in the seventh and Matt Dominguez's two-run blast in the eighth cut the deficit to 9-4.
Earlier, Baltimore jumped out to a 3-0 lead after plating two runs in the second and another in the third.
Lough's two-run shot into the seats in right opened the scoring in the second and Adam Jones' sacrifice fly into right in the third staked the O's to their three-run cushion.
George Springer led off the fourth with a double and later scored on Chris Carter's single through the hole on the left side to get Houston on the board.
