Minneapolis, MN – The Minnesota Lynx have signed All-Star year contract extension.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but Brunson would have become a free agent after the season.
In 30 games this year, Brunson is averaging 10.7 points and 9.3 rebounds. She is third in the league in rebounding with 280.

"She's one of the cornerstones of our team and has played a vital role in our success this season. She plays with such a relentless intensity that is so much fun for our fans to watch. We're thrilled that she's decided to continue her career in Minnesota and we look forward to having her in a Lynx uniform for many years to come."
Brunson shattered every single-season franchise rebounding record in 2010, totaling 310 rebounds.
"I'm really happy to be able to continue my career with the Lynx," said Brunson. "I love the Twin Cities and truly want to thank all the fans for the support they've given me and my teammates this year. Obviously this season has been really special and we hope to bring home a championship for the fans."
Brunson played the first six seasons of her career with Sacramento, and helped guide the Monarchs to a championship in 2005. She was acquired by Minnesota in the dispersal draft.
Over 252 career games (167 starts), Brunson has averaged 9.3 points and 7.1 rebounds.
