Leverkusen, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Bayer Leverkusen has signed goalkeeper Bernd Leno to a contract extension that ties him to the team until 2018.
Leno joined Leverkusen in 2011 from Stuttgart, where he spent the previous three seasons with the club's reserve team.
Since arriving at the BayArena, Leno has established himself as the first- choice goalkeeper, helping Leverkusen reach the Champions League with a third- place finish in the Bundesliga last season.
The 21-year-old has started all 11 games for Leverkusen in the league this season, recording three clean sheets.
