LaVonte Dority scored 19 points, Will Bogan added 14 off the bench and Valparaiso cruised past NAIA opponent Purdue-Calumet 79-51 on Saturday.

Dority was 4 of 8 from the field and 10 of 12 from the line for the Crusaders (9-4), and Bogan made four 3-pointers. Ben Boggs chipped in 12 points. Valparaiso shot 55 percent from the floor in improving to 7-0 at home this season. The Crusaders have also won 23 consecutive games against non-Division I opponents, a streak that dates to 1997.

Warren Gordon scored 16 points to lead the Peregrines, who treated the game as an exhibition on their schedule. Purdue-Calumet shot 35 percent from the field, committed 22 turnovers that led to 21 Valparaiso points, and were outscored 32-22 in the paint.

Valparaiso gave up the first basket of the game but never trailed thereafter, leading 49-25 at halftime.
