Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tanner Pearson scored the go-ahead goal early in the second period, lifting the Los Angeles Kings over the Carolina Hurricanes, 3-2, on Thursday.
Jarret Stoll and Trevor Lewis also scored for the Kings, who have won three in a row. Jonathan Quick made 25 saves.
Eric Staal and Jeff Skinner lit the lamp for the Hurricanes, who have lost four of five. Cam Ward stopped 36-of-39 shots.
"Both goalies were good, Ward was there when we needed him and made some big saves," said Staal. "They had a lot of shots and quality opportunities and he made some key saves, we just didn't get enough."
Stoll scored on the power play at the 7:53 mark of the first period. Dustin Brown's pass from behind the net went to Stoll, who beat Ward from in close.
Skinner tied things up at 17:16 when his shot from the right circle beat Quick.
Lewis crashed the net and put home a rebound 37 seconds into the second.
Staal tied the game 2-2 at 2:21 with a backhand of the rebound of Skinner's shot on the power play.
The Kings took the lead back on Pearson's goal at 2:59. Mike Richards' shot from the side of the net bounced off Ward's shoulder and Pearson batted in the loose puck.
"It feels good," said Pearson. "Whenever you are kind of in a drought, and I obviously haven't been playing my best hockey lately, this game definitely helped a lot."
Quick made 11 saves in the third to preserve the victory.

The Kings have set a new franchise record with their fourth consecutive home win against the Hurricanes (previously three, Feb. 8, 2000-Feb.7, 2003) ... Los Angeles has more wins (10) and points (21) at home than any team in the NHL.
