WASHINGTON, D.C. – Keon Hill scored a game-high 21 points to lead Howard past Gwynedd-Mercy College on Sunday.
Hill took all of his shots from 3-point range, going 7 of 10, to lead the Bison. James Daniel added 16 points while Marcel Boyd pulled down eight rebounds.
Howard used a 17-4 run early in the first half to jump out to a 31-16 lead, and the Griffins, a Division III school, were not able to recover.
Gwynedd-Mercy College did cut the lead to 11 in the second half, but Howard responded with a 7-0 run. The Bison moved to 2-0 on the season while this game counted as an exhibition for Gwynedd-Mercy College.
Darnell Artis and Arron Goodman each scored 13 points for the Griffins. Goodman also pulled down a team-leading 7 rebounds.
Howard shot 50 percent for the game while holding Gwynedd-Mercy College to 33 percent.
