Hurricanes pick up Nodl off waivers from Flyers

The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired right wing Andreas Nodl off waivers from Philadelphia.

Nodl appeared in 12 games this season for the Flyers and picked up one assist. He compiled 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 67 games for Philadelphia last season.

"This is a young player that skates really well," said Hurricanes president and general manager Jim Rutherford. "He has a skill level that gives us a little more depth among our top 12 forwards."

In 127 career regular-season games over parts of four seasons with the Flyers, the 24-year-old Austria native has scored 12 goals and assisted on 16 others.
