Tony Hicks scored a career-high 29 points and Pennsylvania rallied to defeat Cornell 79-71 Friday night in Ivy League action.

Hicks scored 15 of the Quakers' first 17 points. With Penn (7-18, 4-4) trailing 47-43 early in the second half, he scored on a jumper, a layup, a 3-pointer and another layup to push the Quakers ahead for good.

The Big Red (13-13, 5-4) connected on 7 of 15 3-pointers in the first half but made only 3 of 12 in the second.

Penn outshot Cornell 54.9 percent (28 of 51) to 40.4 percent (21 of 52) and made 10 of 19 from deep.

Miles Cartwright added 15 points and nine assists for Penn, which has won three of its past four games,

Freshman Nolan Cressler scored a career-high 22 points for the Big Red, who came in riding a three-game winning streak and defeated Penn 71-69 on Feb. 2.
