WOLFSBURG, Germany --
Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking has extended his contract with the club by two years to 2018.
Hecking says "we have a lot ahead of us in the coming years and I'm looking forward to the coming tasks".
The 50-year-old Hecking left Nuremberg for Wolfsburg in December 2012 and has overseen steady progress at the Volkswagen-backed club.
Wolfsburg won the German Cup and finished runner-up in the Bundesliga last season, qualifying directly for the Champions League.
