Genoa, Italy – Genoa fired Alberto Malesani on Thursday after just six months in charge, and named Pasquale Marino its new manager.
Malesani was only named manager in June, but following a 6-1 loss to Napoli on Wednesday, his latest coaching stint is over. Malesani has also coached Siena, Bologna, Udinese, Parma and Fiorentina, among others.
Marino signed a contract through the 2012-13 season. The 49-year-old has been a coach since 1997, with stints at Udinese and Parma his two most recent jobs.
Genoa is 10th in Serie A.
