Florida No. 1 in final poll

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Florida, the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, is ranked No. 1 in the final Associated Press poll.

Florida is the top-ranked team for the fourth straight week after completing a perfect run through the SEC by capturing the tournament title. The Gators, winners of 26 straight games, again received 50 first-place votes and a total of 1,610 points from a nationwide media panel.

Since the poll expanded to 25 teams in 1989-90, only four teams ranked No. 1 in the final poll went on to win the national championship: Duke in 1992, UCLA in 1995, Duke in 2001 and Kentucky in 2012.

Florida is followed by the remaining No. 1 seeds.

Wichita State is ranked second after picking up the remaining 15 first-place votes. The Shockers are the first team to enter the NCAA tourney without a loss since UNLV in 1991.

Virginia rose three spots to third after winning the ACC Tournament for the first time since 1976, and Arizona remained fourth.

Louisville, Villanova, Michigan, Duke, Iowa State and Kansas round out the top 10.

Michigan State, which won the Big Ten crown, jumped 11 places to 11th and is followed by Wisconsin, San Diego State, Syracuse, Cincinnati, Creighton, New Mexico, Connecticut, North Carolina and UCLA.

Oklahoma, Ohio State, Baylor, VCU and Saint Louis are the last five teams ranked.

UCLA, which won the Pac-12 Tournament, and Baylor are the newcomers, replacing Memphis and SMU.
