Prince Fielder kept up his hot spring training start by lining an RBI single in a two-run first innign and then doubling in the Texas Rangers' 8-4 victory over the San Diego Padres on Thursday.

Acquired from Detroit in an offseason trade, Fielder is batting .400 (6 for 15) in spring training. His sixth-inning double down the right-field line off Alex Torres started a six-run inning that included Jurickson Profar's grand slam and ended on Fielder's popout to second.

Rangers starter Alexi Ogando allowed one run — unearned — and five hits in three innings. San Diego starter Ian Kennedy settled down to retire nine straight in three innings.

San Diego's Tommy Medica hit a three-run homer against Cory Burns in the ninth.
