The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to call up outfielder and top prospect Yasiel Puig on Monday.

Los Angeles is in need of an outfielder after Carl Crawford injured his hamstring while legging out a double in Saturday's loss to the Colorado Rockies. He was forced to leave the game and is unsure how much time he will miss.

To open up a roster spot for Puig, the Dodgers will option Sunday spot starter Matt Magill back to Triple-A Albuquerque. Magill was called up to fill in for a scratched Hyun-Jin Ryu, but walked nine batters and allowed seven runs -- six earned -- over six innings in a 7-2 loss to Colorado.

The Cuban born Puig signed a reported seven-year, $42 million deal with the Dodgers this past offseason and has been tearing it up with the team's Double- A affiliate.

In 40 games with Chattanooga, the 22-year-old has posted a .313 batting average with eight homers, 37 RBI and 13 stolen bases.

The underachieving Dodgers (23-32) have lost four of their last five games and currently sit in last place of the National League West division.
