New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez has been named the National League Player of the Month for April.

Gonzalez became the first player in major league history to hit five home runs in his team's first three games of the season and finished the month with an NL-leading eight long balls.

He batted .383 with 19 RBI and a .432 on-base percentage in 21 games to earn his second monthly award. His first came with the Boston Red Sox in June 2011.
