St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Cardinals placed pitcher Brian Fuentes on the restricted list Tuesday.
Fuentes has informed the team that he needs to step away from the game due to personal reasons. He has allowed five runs on six hits over five innings with the Cardinals, who signed him to a minor league contract last month.
St. Louis recalled reliever Trevor Rosenthal from Triple-A Memphis. He was 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in four games with the Cardinals last month.
