The Vancouver Canucks signed center Maxim Lapierre and defenseman Andrew Alberts to two-year contracts Wednesday.
The 26-year-old Lapierre had six goals, six assists and 80 penalty minutes in 78 regular-season games last season for Montreal, Anaheim and Vancouver. He has 41 goals, 43 assists and 301 penalty minutes in 333 career NHL games.
Alberts had a goal, six assists and 41 penalty minutes in 42 games last season. The 29-year-old Minneapolis native, a former Boston College star, led Vancouver defensemen with 113 hits. He has six goals, 45 assists and 420 penalty minutes in 381 career games with Boston, Philadelphia, Carolina and Vancouver.
