Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Martin Brodeur posted a 33-save shutout and Dainius Zubrus potted a pair of third-period goals in the New Jersey Devils' 3-0 whitewashing of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday at Prudential Center.

Damien Brunner registered New Jersey's other goal and Jaromir Jagr notched two assists for the Devils, who had lost two straight and five of their last six games coming into the contest.

"Zubie (Zubrus) is an All-Star," Jagr said of his linemate. "He's having a great year, but this year there's no All-Star [Game] so it's a waste of year."

Anders Lindback allowed all three goals on 19 shots for the Lightning, who dropped their seventh straight road game to halt their four-game point streak.

"The one thing that's saved us is we've been pretty good at home," Tampa Bay head coach Jon Cooper said. "We need to be a .500 team on the road and we've dipped."

Brunner broke the scoreless deadlock late in the second stanza after accepting a stretch pass from Eric Gelinas. Once in the Tampa Bay zone, Brunner split two defenders before beating Lindback glove-side with a wrister from in close to make it 1-0 with 4:23 left in the middle frame.

Zubrus helped the Devils create some separation in the third, netting a pair of goals in a 2:52 span to push the margin to 3-0.

Jagr came up with a steal below the Tampa Bay goal line to set up the first goal, as he fed Zubrus in front for a one-timer at 6:44.

Zubrus then stuffed in a rebound from the low left side off a Jagr miss at 9:36 to make it a three-goal spread.

Brodeur registered 13 saves in the final frame to complete his third shutout of the season.
