Blues sign Crombeen to two-year extension

The Blues signed forward BJ Crombeen to a two-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday.

Terms of the contract were not immediately available.

The 25-year-old Crombeen, who has spent the majority of the past three seasons with the Blues, is coming off a 2010-11 campaign where he played a career high in games (80) while recording 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists).

In his four-year NHL career, the 6-foot-2, 214-pound forward has appeared in 248 games, tallying 53 points (26 goals, 27 assists).

"BJ has been a true professional for the Blues organization on and off the ice," St. Louis General Manager Doug Armstrong said. "His gritty play and leadership qualities fit in well with our mix of players."

This marks the ninth player the Blues have signed to a contract extension since May 31.

Crombeen, a Denver, Colorado native, was originally drafted by Dallas in the second round of the 2003 Entry Draft. He was claimed off waivers by the Blues on Nov. 18, 2008.
