Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Blue Jays placed outfielder Michael Saunders on the 15-day disabled list Sunday due to left knee inflammation.
Saunders missed most of the week after having his knee drained but returned to action Saturday, going 0-for-4 at the plate. He is hitting .194 with three RBI in nine games this season.
The Blue Jays also selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Steve Tolleson from Triple-A Buffalo and designated pitcher Preston Guilmet for assignment.
Tolleson went 3-for-15 in seven games with the Blue Jays last month.
