Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Columbus Blue Jackets announced Tuesday that forward Cam Atkinson will be sidelined from 1-to-2 weeks with an upper- body injury he suffered in the team's most recent game.
Atkinson exited Saturday's 6-2 win over Boston in the first period and did not return. The Blue Jackets have subsequently placed the fourth-year NHL veteran on injured reserve, with center Sean Collins recalled from Springfield of the AHL to fill the roster spot.
The 25-year-old Atkinson's eight goals in 33 games are tied for third among Columbus players this season.
Collins has appeared in 13 goals with the Blue Jackets over the past three seasons, including two in 2014-15. The 26-year-old had 10 goals and nine assists in 28 games with Springfield.
