Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival is expected to miss the remainder of the postseason after suffering a broken ankle on Thursday night against Minnesota.
The Blackhawks said Friday that Rozsival's fractured left ankle will require surgery. He's not expected to return to full hockey activity until next season.
Rozsival was injured in the second period of Game 4 when he fell down while trying to guard Minnesota's Thomas Vanek, who went in on a short breakaway that goaltender Corey Crawford turned aside.
Chicago won the game 4-3 to sweep the Wild and reach the conference finals for a third consecutive season.
Rozsival had 13 points in 65 games during the regular season and was averaging around 18 1/2 minutes of ice time entering Thursday's game.
