Barcelona stays unbeaten with rout of Granada

Barcelona, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Barcelona's unbeaten start to the La Liga season continued on Saturday as the club cruised to a 6-0 rout of Granada at Camp Nou.

The Catalans dropped points for the first time this season with a scoreless draw against Malaga last time out, but Neymar helped the hosts rebound in good fashion by opening the scoring in the 26th minute of Saturday's affair.

Barcelona extended its lead to three goals before halftime with Ivan Rakitic doubling the club's advantage in the 43rd before Neymar added another two minutes later.

The second half was much of the same as Barcelona tacked on three more goals to seal the comfortable win.

Lionel Messi got off the mark in the 62nd minute before Neymar completed his hat trick four minutes later.

The Argentine wizard wrapped up the result eight minutes from time, sealing the club's fifth win through six games.

Barcelona, which has yet to concede a goal in league play thus far, moves to the top of the table with 16 points while Granada slips to 10th place on eight points.

Atletico Madrid moved into sole possession of second place in the top flight by claiming a 4-0 win over Sevilla on Saturday.

Koke and Saul Niguez bagged first-half goals while strikes from Raul Garcia and Raul Jimenez on the opposite side of the interval saw the reigning champions collect their fourth win of the campaign.

Real Madrid kept pace by getting a 2-0 win at Villarreal as first-half goals from Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo brought the club to 12 points through six games.

Also on Saturday, Leo Baptistao bagged a brace in Rayo Vallecano's 2-0 win at Levante while Athletic Bilbao was held to a 0-0 home draw by newly-promoted Eibar.
