Ike Azotam had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Jamee Jackson provided key defensive plays as Quinnipiac edged Fairleigh Dickinson 58-56 Saturday.

Azotam scored nine first-half points, then added a layup to open the second half and give the Bobcats (8-12, 4-4 Northeast Conference) a 34-23 lead. The Knights (7-14, 2-6), however, ran off the next 12 points to lead 35-34 as Kinu Rochford and Mathias Seilund made two baskets each.

Zaid Hearst's 3-pointer with 2:58 to play gave Quinnipiac a 56-51 lead, and Jackson, in the final minute, stole the ball once from Sidney Sanders Jr. and twice blocked layup attempts by Sanders, the second of which could have tied the game with 5 seconds left.

Shaq Shannon added 12 points for Quinnipiac. Azotam's double-double was the 25th of the junior's career.

Rochford scored 14 points and Sanders 11 for the Knights, who have lost five straight.
