Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Houston Astros pitcher Brett Oberholtzer returned to the 15-day disabled list after being forced to exit Wednesday's season debut due to a blister on his left index finger.
Oberholtzer lasted just three innings in Houston's 4-3 win over San Francisco. The left-hander had been sidelined since spring training with a blister issue on the same finger.
Pitcher Jake Buchanan was recalled from Triple-A Fresno on Thursday to take Oberholtzer's place on the roster.
Buchanan made 17 appearances, including two starts, as a rookie with the Astros last season. The 25-year-old went 1-3 with a 4.58 ERA.
