Ajax saw its early two-goal erased but still managed to take all three points at Willem II Stadion as it claimed a 4-2 victory over Willem II on Sunday.

Siem De Jong and Danny Hoesen had given visiting Ajax the lead inside the opening 15 minutes with goals three minutes apart.

Willem II answered with goals from Aurelien Joachim and Genaro Snijders in the 16th and 28th minutes, respectively, to tie the match.

The two sides remained tied until the 72nd minute when Niklas Moisander restored Ajax's lead, while Jody Lukoki sealed the result with a goal four minutes from time.

Ajax improves to 36 points to climb back to second place in the Eredivisie. Willem II remains bottom of the league on 11 points.

Also on Sunday, Sander Duits scored in the third minute of stoppage time to see RKC Waalwijk earn a point in a 2-2 draw with Vitesse, Tjaronn Chery conceded an own goal to see Feyenoord claim a 3-2 win over Den Haag and Leon de Kogel bagged a brace in Utrecht's 3-1 defeat of Heerenveen.
