Amsterdam, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Ajax is on the brink of clinching a fourth successive Eredivisie title after the club notched a 3-2 home victory against Den Haag on Sunday.

Ajax entered the day able to clinch the title with a win over Den Haag and a loss or draw by Feyenoord at PSV Eindhoven.

And although Ajax claimed three points, Feyenoord was able to come away from PSV with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Joris Mathijsen and Darryl Janmaat to keep the title race going one more week.

Christian Poulsen put Ajax ahead on Sunday with a header in the 35th minute, only for Stefano Denswil's own goal to hand Den Haag the equalizer one minute later.

Davy Klaassen finally broke the deadlock for Ajax 20 minutes from time with a well-struck shot that found the bottom corner to put his team up 2-1.

Poulsen set up the third goal for Ajax with a nice ball that was finished off by Thulani Serero, while Den Haag pulled a goal back in stoppage time through Tom Beugelsdijk.

Ajax will now have the chance to clinch the title in two weeks with a point at Heracles.

Also on Sunday, AZ Alkmaar and NEC played to a 1-1 draw after NEC got the equalizer from Kevin Conboy in the 87th minute, Utrecht topped Heracles, 2-1, with first-half goals from Jacob Mulenga and Juan Agudelo, while Zwolle and RKC Waalwijk traded second-half goals in a 1-1 draw.
