Virginia Republicans Seek Candidate to Unseat Freshman House Democrat

Race to Watch: 

2nd Congressional District Republican Primary -- Scott Rigell vs. Scott Taylor vs. Jessica Sandlin vs. Ben Loyola vs. Bert Mizusawa vs. Ed Maulbeck

Freshman Democratic Rep. Glenn Nye has a political target on his back in Virginia as six Republicans vie for the chance to take him on in the fall.

The establishment favorite is certainly auto dealer Scott Rigell. He is supported by the National Republican Congressional Committee and Gov. Bob McDonnell.

But businessman Ben Loyola has the support of Tea Party groups. And it could hurt Rigell that he donated $2,000 to Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and his dealerships benefited from the "cash for clunkers" program.
