Report: Marco Rubio rumored to be looking at job with Miami Dolphins

Marco Rubio is looking around for something to do now that he’s dropped out of the presidential race and rumor has it that he might be heading to the NFL.

No, the former defensive back for the Tarkio College Owls won’t be putting on shoulder pads and a helmet. But there is speculation that Rubio could land an executive gig with his beloved Miami Dolphins.

A Dolphin’s insider, however, seems to have put of kibosh on the rumor saying, “Nope, nothing to it. He is a huge fan, though,” according to the New York Post.

So while the Dolphins’ rumors seem iffy at best, the question of what the Florida lawmaker will do once his term ends remains up in the air.

Rubio seems intent on not running for any political office – unless he plans another White House run in 2020. But there is speculation that for the time being he may be interested in taking a private sector job.

As for the delegates he won in the primaries, he’s making sure that he holds on to them.

“It is my desire at this time that the delegates allocated to me by your rules remain bound to vote for me on at least the first nominating ballot at the National Convention,” Rubio wrote in a letter to the Alaska Republican Party.

Rubio’s desire to hold to the delegates is seen as a move to keep Donald Trump from winning the nomination in a contested convention come November, or using them as a bargaining chip for the VP slot.
