Rep. Steve King said on Monday that many of the scientists who support the president's Paris climate agreement have taken money from government contributors.
"I think the scientists that have been pushing this have collected a lot of money from donors in government and created a science that's awfully hard to sustain," King said on CNN's "New Day."
The Iowa Republican said he was "very skeptical" of the climate change agreement signed by the U.S. and nearly 200 other countries in Paris last week. The deal seeks to limit the global rise in temperature by 2 degrees celsius above pre-industrial levels.
Like other critics of the Paris agreement, King blasted the administration for side-stepping Congress in the implementation of the deal.
