Lisa Witchalls was told she would never be able to have children. So, it was quite a shock when she was rushed to the hospital with what she thought was an ulcer, and delivered a healthy baby boy just hours later, the London Evening Standard reported.

The 25-year-old was admitted to Queen's Hospital in Essex, England on June 6 after experiencing intense stomach pains. Doctors checked her blood pressure and performed two pregnancy tests. Both were positive.

“I could not get my head around what was going on, I went through so many emotions,” Witchalls said.

At first, Witchalls was told she was 35 weeks pregnant, but a problem with the baby’s heartbeat led doctors to reassess her condition. It turned out the baby was actually overdue.

“First, I was just happy I was pregnant and thought I would have some time to get used to the idea, then I was told I had to give birth straight away,” she said.

Her son Reece was born by Caesarean section and weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces.

“I went from being told I would never have children to giving birth,” Witchalls told the newspaper. “The whole family is ecstatic.”
