The other day, a dear friend came to visit me at home, and I noticed he was limping. When I asked him what happened, he said, "Oh my wife jumped on me last night!" In the heat of passion, he had fallen from the bed and actually broken a rib.

It got me thinking - can sex be dangerous?

I started my search for more information on this very interesting topic, and found out there is not a lot of data on this subject. However, I did have a few facts to work with. According to several surveys, the average American -- and I say average - makes love about 85 times a year. And some reports, although non-scientific, say that one-third of people complain of sex-related injuries.

Check out this link.

So I wanted to find out, how dangerous is sex? I came across a list that I thought, quite personally, made a lot of sense.

Drum roll please... And the 10 most common sex-related injuries are:

1. Pulled muscle 2. Injured Back 3. Carpet burns 4. Crick in neck 5. Bashed elbows and knees 6. Bruised shoulder 7. Twisted knee 8. Sprained wrist 9. Sprained ankle 10. Bending fingers back

Now I didn't see any broken ribs in my search for injuries, so as I told my friend, no pain, no gain. But maybe he should look into getting some special health insurance for the next time he is in the mood.

Next time I'll talk to you about the most dangerous places to have sex.
