Lauren Sanchez, who’s reportedly dating Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, took flight after her stint on “Extra” and became a helicopter pilot, according to an interview she previously did with her former employer.

Sanchez, an entertainment reporter for the show from 2011-2017, sat down with "Extra," where she explained her career path. The show shared the interview on their YouTube page in March.

“When I first became a reporter, I did it because there was no one else I thought that looked like me,” Sanchez, who currently flies for Black Ops Aviation, said during the interview. “There’s only 6% of pilots are women. And then there’s even less in the film industry, so I was like ‘I want to film movies. That’s what I want to do.”

The company describes itself on Instagram as an aerial filming company.

Sanchez is also seen in the video, shared online by "Extra", giving her interviewer a ride in a chopper. Sights seen along their ride included the famed Hollywood sign and Universal Studios.

“I’m living my dream,” Sanchez said in the interview, explaining how she continues to have a connection to the camera.

“I loved being on camera,” she said. "And now, I still have a camera. It's just 3,000 feet in the air.”

On Wednesday, Bezos and his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie, announced on Twitter that they were splitting up.

“We want to make people aware of a development in our lives. As our family and close friends know, after a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends,” the statement signed by both of them read.

Sanchez met Bezos through her estranged husband Patrick Whitesell, sources told the New York Post.
