J.K. Simmons still thinks of himself as some putz from Detroit

J.K. Simmons is a favorite to win a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for “Whiplash” — and he’s moved onto “Terminator Genisys” with Arnold Schwarzenegger — but he still thinks of himself as some putz from Detroit.

Simmons shot the new “Terminator” with “Game of Thrones” dragon babe Emilia Clarke and Aussie “Planet of the Apes” hunk Jason Clarke, and summed up: “The first time I met Arnold, we were doing a table read, and as the former Mr. Universe and governor of California, he brought a presence and charisma that is undeniable. We all sat down…and all I’m thinking is, ‘We have an Austrian…guys from Australia, a British actress, and me — ‘putzalovich from the Midwest.’”
